Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at St. Mary Magdalen Church for Walton “Blondie” Sellers, 84 of Abbeville, who died Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Abbeville General Hospital.
Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Vernon Mayard Sellers of Abbeville; three daughters, Wal’Dean Marie Lundquist and husband Carl of La Porte, Tx, Claire Ann Motty and husband Andre’ of Abbeville and Tracey Elizabeth Howard and husband James of Naples FL.; one half-sister, Rexine Sellers, one step-sister, Patsy Broussard and six grandchildren, James Lundquist, Stephen Lundquist, Andrea Humble, Matthew Motty, Rick Dembrun and Rachel Dembrun.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rex Sellers; mother, Mesmie Hebert Sellers; step-mother, Osa Bertrand Sellers; one brother, Ralph Sellers, Sr. and a daughter, Rachel Sellers.
Mr. Sellers was a Veteran of WWII, having served in the Army. He was a member and past Commander of American Legion Post 29 and member of the Knights of Columbus. Before his retirement, he worked for Superior Oil Co. and Western Auto. “Blondie” was also an avid sports fan
Visiting hours will be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South Saint Charles, Abbeville, Tuesday July 17, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
