Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Hugh Paul Cormier, 81, who died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Clint Trahan officiating the services.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nita Schexnider Cormier of Kaplan; three sons, David Paul Cormier and his wife, Charlene of Carencro, John Matthew Cormier and his wife, Mary of Lyons Point, and Mark Gerard Cormier and his wife, Vicky of Gueydan; three daughters, Carole and her husband, Larry Primeaux of Kaplan, Janet and her husband, Allen LeJeune of Kaplan, and Donna and her husband, Anthony "Tony" LeBlanc of Kaplan; two brothers, Floyd Cormier of Boston, Massachusetts and Andrew Cormier of Lake Arthur; 20 grandchildren; and 45 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexon Cormier and the former Electa Guidry; sons, Patrick and Aaron Cormier; brothers, Wilsie and Brady Cormier; sisters, Onita C. Marceaux and Betty C. Dugas; great grandson, Dylan Ness; and one son-in-law, Donald "Bubba" Robinson Jr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
