Funeral
services will be held Friday, July
20,2007 at a 3:00 p.m.. Mass of
Christian Burial in St. Theresa Catholic Church honoring the life of Edith Soriez Bertrand, 99, who died July 18, 2007 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery.
She was a member of the St. Theresa Ladies Altar Society and member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #29.
She is survived by three sons, Hugh J. and his wife Georgie Lee Bertrand of Abbeville, Virnez J. and his wife Mabel Colomb Bertrand of Delcambre and C.J. and Mary Romero Bertrand of Abbeville; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Bertrand; parents Ludovic Soriez and the former Philomine Prejean; daughter, Hilda Bertrand; brothers, Aldes, Adlar, Emile and Odes Soriez; and sisters, Destin Landry, Esta Landry, Alida Mallet and Menise Soriez.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Thursday, July 19th from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, July 20th from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
