Laura Stelly Demarcy

October 29, 1930 — November 11, 2011

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Monday, November 14, 2011 at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Laura Stelly DeMarcy, 81, who died Friday, November 11, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Millard Boyer officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Sean Touchet, Patrick DeMarcy, Randy James DeMarcy Jr., Nathan Stelly, Chad Dartez and Heath DeMarcy. Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba DeMarcy and Robert Hughs.

She is survived by two sons, Randy DeMarcy and his wife, Cathy of Forked Island and Patrick "Bo" DeMarcy and his wife, Vickie of Opelousas; one daughter, Dale DeMarcy Touchet of Kaplan; two sisters, Jeanette "Jane" and her husband, Lester Kielers of Fayetteville, Texas and Jerri and her husband, Johnny Smith of Winterville, Georgia; one brother, Bradley Stelly and his wife, Molly of Liberty, Texas; nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hartwell DeMarcy; and her parents, Milton Stelly and the former Gloria Abshire.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 4 p.m. until services, with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.
