Karl Philip Petry

He was a pharmacist in Gueydan for twenty two years and was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He loved raising cattle and was a supportive member of the United Braford Breeders. He enjoyed being outdoors and deer hunting, as well as spending time with family and friends. He was a great father, husband, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cathy Darbonne Petry of Gueydan; two sons, Dr. Jerod Paul Petry and his wife, Amy of New Iberia and Kade Philip Petry of Gueydan; one daughter, Jessica Leigh Petry of Gueydan; his parents, Reno Paul Petry Jr. DVM and Ramona Zaunbrecher Petry of Jennings; two sisters, Leslie Petry Hector and her husband, Karl of Lafayette and Katharine Petry Krielow and her husband, Eric of Jennings; two brothers, Dr. Barry Petry of Jennings and Dr. Mark Petry and his wife, Angie LaFleur of Jennings; and four grandchildren, Gracie, Addison, Sadie, and Vincent Petry.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 10 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
