John Edward Faulk, Sr.

April 30, 1928 — November 19, 2011

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of John Edward Faulk, Sr., 83, who died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at his residence.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Scott DesOrmeaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Joshua Faulk, Jerrod Faulk, Nicholas Rabassa, Hunter LeBleu, Marshall Faulk and Floyd Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Rabassa and Dr. Walter J. Primeaux, Jr.

John was a veteran of the United States Navy who served our country during World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2281 and American Legion Vermilion Post #29.

He is survived by his three sons, John E. Faulk, Jr. of Lake Charles, Eric D. Faulk and his wife, Laura of Milton and Joel C. Faulk of Metairie; three daughters, Leah F. Rabassa and her husband, Darryl of Erath, Christine F. Lege and her husband, Mark of Abbeville and Rebecca F. LeBleu and her husband, Darrell "Bleu" of Meaux; thirteen grandchildren, Kristen Faulk, Nicholas Rabassa, April Rabassa, Samantha Rabassa, Christopher Rabassa, Heather Rabassa, Joshua Faulk and his wife, Stephanie, Jerrod Faulk, Hunter LeBleu, Ellan LeBleu, London Faulk, Sawyer Faulk and Cooper Faulk; and one great grandchild, Kaiden Faulk.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucia Loretta Sellers Faulk; parents, Ulysse Faulk and the former Noema Broussard; grandson, Michael James Rabassa; brothers, J.Y. Faulk, Sr., Edes Faulk, Minos Faulk and Freddie Faulk; sisters, Ella Faulk Guidry and Agnes Faulk Alleman.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed by the The Knights of Columbus at 7:00 p.m.; Tuesday, November 22, 2011, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Jackie Olinger and the entire staff at Southern Care Hospice of Scott for the great service they provided.
