Henrietta "Honey" Melancon Couvillion

October 21, 1927 — November 24, 2011

Abbeville—Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Henrietta “Honey” Melancon Couvillion, 84, who died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.

She will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Honey was an active member of St. Theresa Church, she was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, George Wayne Couvillion of Abbeville; daughter, Shelly Broussard and husband Kent of Maurice; a sister, Peggy Dartez and husband John Earl "Snow" of Kaplan; two grandchildren, Elisa Hebert and husband Johnny of Abbeville and Andre' Broussard and wife Ashley of Maurice; six great grandchildren, Erin, Amber and Riley Hebert and Jillian, Gabe and Cade Broussard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Couvillion; parents, Alexie Melancon; mother, Irma Guilbeaux; brother, Francis Melancon and sisters, Euvie Melancon and Eva Talbot.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church, 101 N. Leonard Street, on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services with a rosary to be prayed at 10:30 a.m.
