Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Ray Allen Trahan, 79, who died Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. He will be laid to rest at Immaculate Conception Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.
He is survived by one son, Gerald "Breeze" Trahan and his companion, Cindy Leger of Forked Island; two daughters, Judy and her husband, Howard Leger of Erath, and Virginia and her husband, Robert LeMaire of Abbeville; three sisters, Lerna Richard of Kaplan, Ella Mae Touchet of Forked Island, and Hazel Marie Trahan of Kaplan; six grandchildren, Eva Lange, Kayla LeMaire, Mary Trahan, Amy Harrington, Tonya Trahan, and Hunter Trahan; four great grandchildren, Parker Harrington, Kade Harrington, Rylan Frederick, and Brycen Frederick; and a special friend, Juanette Belaire of Gueydan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruby Miller Trahan; his parents, Arthur Trahan and the former Odea Fontenot; one brother, Galis Trahan; three sisters, Gelta Frith, Winnie Domingue and Alva Jane Suire.
The family would like to extend a debt of gratitude to Hospice of Acadiana and the staff of Kaplan Healthcare Center for their care and compassion during their time of need as well as Dr. Charbonnet, Dr.Schexnaider, extended family and friends.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. when the procession departs for the church.
