Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Annie Mae Simon Landry, 93, who died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.
She is survived by two sons, Elton Landry of Oahu, Hawaii and Donate Landry and his wife, Brenna of Visalia, California; one sister, Verna Duhon of Mauriceville, Texas; one brother, Howard Simon and his wife, Tattie of Port Arthur, Texas; six grandchildren, Dina Broussard, Kay DesOrmeaux, and Dwayne, Dave, Tanya, and Gay Landry; seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donate Landry Sr.; her parents, Robert Simon and the former Anaise Vallot; one son, Ray Allen Landry; one daughter, Faye Arceneaux; six brothers, J.E., Wilbert, Melvin, Charles, Hubert, and Daniel Simon; and one grandchild, Jared Landry.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6 p.m.; Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 8 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for church.
