Warren Joseph Touchet

Vocalist for the funeral will be grandson Holden Greene, readers will be granddaughters Alexa Hebert Bon and Kaitlin Greene, gift bearers will be grandchildren Autumn Hebert, Tristan Greene and Ashton Greene.
Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville.
Coach as he was affectionately called by many was a graduate of Abbeville High School and SLI(presently ULL), and LSU. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving at the end of World War II. He was a retired teacher with 36 years of service from the Vermilion Parish School Board. He was elected and served as a Vermilion Parish Police Juror and as an Abbeville City Councilman. He was also a Vermilion Parish Election Commissioner and a Boy Scout Master.
Warren was known throughout the Acadiana area because of his thirty-three years of officiating football, basketball and baseball. He was an avid outdoor sportsman. His greatest joy came from following local, college and professional sports as well as gardening. He will be remembered most for his vast wealth of knowledge and statistics accomplished by athletes and for his constant presence and support at all of his grandchildren's functions.
He will be sorely missed by his family and friends as he was admired for his gentle nature, acceptance of all people and his desire for fairness.
Survivors include his daughters, Sharan Bailey Sapkota and husband Sijan of Lafayette, Cathy Touchet Hebert and husband Brian of Abbeville, and Karen Touchet Greene of Abbeville. His grandchildren Alexa Hebert Bon and husband Mark, Andre Hebert, Autumn Hebert, Kaitlin Greene, Holden Greene, Tristan Greene and Ashton Gteene. His great granddaughters Ellee and soon to arrive Kynadee Bon. His sisters Leanna Touchet Hebert and Juanita Touchet and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of thirty three years Elmae Broussard Touchet, brother Lovic "Tiny" Touchet and parents Dulma Touchet and Edith Irvin Touchet.
Pallbearers have yet to be finalized but will include grandsons Andre’ Hebert, Holden Greene, Tristan Greene, Ashton Greene, Mark Bon and godsons John Touchet, Larry Dubois and Allen Ray Hebert.
Visitation will be observed Monday, August 13, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
