On Sunday, January 22, the Abbeville Church of Christ honored Mrs. Plaisance on the occasion of her birthday and 65 years of service to the church. Mrs. Plaisance was known for cooking Sunday dinner for the minister and his family for many years. She began each day by drinking a hot cup of coffee while reading a chapter from the Bible. Her favorite church songs were "Sun of My Soul" and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee." Her favorite Bible verse was "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets" (Matthew 7:12).

At Mrs. Plaisance’s request, pall bearers will be her nieces Lorraine Romero, Eva Callahan, Dena Reed, Ann Hardy, and Mary Hebert, and her daughter-in-law Vana Plaisance. Vincent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family thanks all those who kindly assisted in her care. Mrs. Plaisance touched many lives. She will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all those who knew her.
