Don James Meaux, Sr.

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, January 30, 2012 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Don James Meaux, 59, who died Friday, January 27, 2012 at his residence.

He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Father Scott DesOrmeaux officiating the services.

Pallbearers will be Don Meaux, Jr., D.J. Duhon, Ryan Mayard, Scotty Meche, Brian Primeaux, and Spencer Broussard. Honorary pallbearers are Rusty Mayard and Davie Meaux.

Don truly enjoyed his life as a farmer and crawfisherman. He also enjoyed camping and spending time with his 4 wheeler club the Meaux Mudders. He had a passion for playing pool, horse racing and drag racing.

He is survived by his son, Don James Meaux, Jr. and wife Naomi of Abbeville; daughter, Michelle Duhon and husband D.J. of Abbeville; mother, Lena Abshire Meaux; two brothers, Dane Meaux and wife Irene and Larry Meaux and wife Terri all of Abbeville; sister, Theresa Chauvin and husband Jim of New Iberia; best friend, Diana Ashworth; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Davie Meaux, Jr.; and sister, Linda Rose Meaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Monday, January 30, 2012, from 8:00 until time of services.
