David Hines Sr.

Mr. Hines was a devoted husband, loving father, and wonderful grandfather. He was a retired crane operator, avid outdoorsman, and will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Azelie Marceaux Hines of Forked Island; four children, David Hines Jr. and his wife, LeeAnn, Cheryl H. Connor and her husband, Brent, Kelly H. Abshire and her husband, Calvin, and Kendall Hines and his wife, Nicole, all of Forked Island; one sister, Doris Cashat of Gueydan; thirteen grandchildren, Angel H. Campbell and her husband, Ryan of Kaplan, Drake Connor and his wife, Lainey of Kaplan, Hali Connor, Andre Hines, Skyler Hines, Jacobi Abshire, Jaelin Abshire, Taya Connor, Toland Connor, Gavin Hines, Haven Hines, Canyon Connor, and Saige Hines, all of Forked Island; and three great grandchildren, Cullen, Gus, and Gavin Campbell, all of Kaplan.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Abshire Hines; his father, Dave Hines; three brothers, Clovis, Wilson, and Killus Ule Hines; and one sister, Effie Mae Lejeune.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 10 a.m. until services on Thursday, February 2, 2012. A rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 7 p.m.
