Marie Rose Soriez East

August 8, 1928 — February 2, 2012

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Marie Rose Soriez East, 83, who died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at her residence.

She will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Murphy East, Brady Daigle, Joey Reed, Shawn Hernandez, Sean Phillips and Ronald Meaux.

The East family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses at Hospice of Acadiana and Concepts of Care.

She is survived by her four sons, Ronald Meaux, Junior Meaux, Robert Lee Elezar and Murphy East; three daughters, Ruby E. Kelly, Annie E. Daigle and Norma East; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren; she will be sadly missed by granddaughter, Alicia Phillips and great grandchildren, Alison Phillips, Elizabeth Phillips and Sean Phillips, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gladu East; and parents, Adam Cestia Soriez and the former Justine Brice.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, February 3, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
