Glenda Faye Choate Baker

January 16, 1945 — February 11, 2012

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Abbeville honoring the life of Glenda Faye Choate Baker, 67, who died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Pres Riley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Redwing, Clint Redwing, Corey Baker, Jim Choate, Donni Choate and Ryan Davidson.

She is survived by her husband, Alton Baker of Abbeville; three sons, Shane Redwing and his wife Sarah of Kaplan, Clint Redwing and his wife Kim of Lafayette, and Cory Baker and his wife Jessie of Erath; two brothers, Jim Choate and his wife Bonnie, and Donni Choate and his wife Jodi all of Abbeville; three sisters, Darlene Gachassin and her husband Ray of Broussard, Gaynell Sherman of Sulphur, and Marilyn Davidson and her husband Terry of Abbeville; thirteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin James Choate and the former Jeanny LeBlanc; daughter, Shannon Lynette Redwing; brother-in-law, Wade Sherman; and mother-in-law, Maurine Baker.

Glenda was a member of the Abbeville First Baptist Church; being involved in many church clubs and organizations before her illness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend; will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.; Thursday, February 16, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
