Marie Aline Lege

February 15, 1934 — February 16, 2012

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 19, 2012 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Marie Aline Lege, 78, who died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital after a courageous battle against breast cancer. She will be laid to rest at Immaculate Conception Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Frederick, Brandon Lege, Craig Gaspard, Gary Stelly, Billy Stelly, and Nathan Stelly.

Marie was a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a phenomenal cook and baker. Her greatest pleasure was being in the company of those she cherished the most, her family, grandchildren and friends. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy for them and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, B.J. Lege of Forked Island; one daughter, Donna and her husband, Tommy J. Choate of Lafayette; one brother, Clifford Stelly of Forked Island; four grandchildren, Shannon and her husband, Tim Burns of Lafayette, Brady Gaspard and his wife, Cheri of Beaumont, Texas and Haley and Mindy Choate, both of Lafayette; and six great grandchildren, Chelsea, Gavin, Lelia and Landon Burns, and Kaleigh and Riley Gaspard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lodias Stelly Jr. and the former Lelia Hebert; and two brothers, Carlton and Harvey Stelly.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Sunday, February 19, from 9 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. when the processin will depart for the church.
