Denise Michelle Compton Boutte

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery.
She was born on September 13, 1966 to the late Jack C. Compton Jr. and Vivian Levy Compton. She attended and graduated from Abbeville Senior High School in 1984. Later, she graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Denise taught in Iberia Parish at Sugarland Elementary School for 8 years and in the Vermilion Parish School System for 3 years. Through these years, Denise made numerous friendships with her co-workers that she cherished throughout her life. She loved all of her students and even at the end of her illness she still believed that one day she would return to her classroom.
Denise is survived by her daughter, Jade Amber Woods and her son, Josiah Charles Boutte. She is further survived by her aunts and uncles, Robert A. and Martha L. Polk and Herbert L. and Pauline Levy; as well as cousins, Julia L. Campbell (Felton), Devonna P. Richard (Louis), and Naomi L. Bell (Courtney), as well as a special friend of the family whom she considered as her aunt, Mrs. Stella C. Verette and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jasmine Amber Woods.
She was a loving mother, cousin, and niece who will be dearly missed by family members and friends.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
