Ozite S. Meaux

December 7, 1922 — March 15, 2012

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Ozite S. Meaux, 89, who died Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.

Ozite was happiest of all with her husband deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, on the boat called Blue. She loved to cook rice dressing and barbecue every weekend. She never put up any fronts and was happy with what she had.

She is survived by two brothers, Savie Schexnider and his wife, Thelma and Levi Schexnider and his wife, Eula, all of Kaplan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Schexnider and the former Elena Touchet; five sisters, Elvena Baudoin, Noamie Benoit, Elia Fontenot, Ella Hebert, and Jane Gaspard; and two brothers, Sabry and Odelon Schexnider.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, March 16, from 8 a.m. until services.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Hospice of Acadiana and the staff of Kaplan Healthcare Center.
