Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 05, 2007 at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville honoring the life of Joseph Nolan Gaspard, 81, who died September 03, 2007 at Abbeville General Hospital. He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Mausoleum with Father Greg Chauvin officiating the services. Nolan was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a paratrooper during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Montagne Gaspard; two sons, Glenn Gaspard and Richard "Dickie" Gaspard; one daughter, Donna G. Judice; two brothers, Augustin Gaspard, Jr. and James Edwin Gaspard; six sisters, Neomie Lavergne, Yvonne Stelly, Guida Mae Sanderlin, Marie Hebert, Codrey Menard and Delores Major; ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustin "Shurd" Gaspard and the former Ida Boudreaux; three brothers, John Gaspard, Luke Gaspard and Eldridge Gaspard; and three sisters, Anna Marie Gaspard, May Nolia Gaspard and Joyce Gaspard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Wednesday, September 5th from 8:30 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
