Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 06, 2007 at Vincent Funeral Home honoring the life of John Francis Vincent, 67, who died September 05, 2007 at his home in Lafayette.
He will be laid to rest at Cossinade Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny, Edward, Jacques, Clay, Drey and Tyler Vincent.
John Francis Vincent owned Vincent Funeral Home with locations in Abbeville, Kaplan and Gueydan. Mr. Vincent was a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He was a director of Kaplan State Bank and director of Coastal Commerce Bancshares, MC. He was a member of the Lions Club, St. Joseph and Holy Name Society and Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Council #2913. He was a member of the Southwest Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association and the Order of the Golden Rule. He was also a past board member of Limousines Limited.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Greene Vincent of Lafayette; four sons, John Francis "Johnny" Vincent Jr. and his wife Charmaine, Edward Vincent and his wife Angie, Jacques Vincent and his wife Dawn, and Clay Vincent, all of Kaplan; and six grandchildren, Laina, Kreslyn, Drey, Hailey, Tyler and Sophie Vincent. He was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Vincent; his parents, Adlar and Gladys Vincent; his brother, Godfrey Vincent; his maternal grandparents, John F. Girouard and the former Anna Meaux; and paternal grandparents, Sevignier Vincent and the former Elia Hebert.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan, 300 Eleazar Ave., Kaplan, LA, Thursday September 6th from 9 a.m. until service time
