Robert Francis Broussard

June 16, 1929 — March 31, 2012

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, April 2, 2012 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Robert Francis Broussard, 82, who died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at his residence.

He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Father Emmanuel Fernandez officiating the services. Pallbearers will be, Tim Broussard, Todd Broussard, Shane Broussard, Troy Broussard, Ryan Bernard and Brandon Sagrera. Honorary pallbearers will be Irving Broussard, Jason Frederick, Bryce Sagrera, Gage Gaspard, William Broussard, Alex Broussard, Caden Bernard and Dylan Bernard.

He is survived by his children, Joan Broussard Bernard and husband Keith, Jan Broussard Sagrera and husband Rodney, Tim Broussard and wife Cindy and Todd Broussard and wife Denise all of Abbeville; one brother, Irving Broussard of Abbeville; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Choate Broussard; parents, Adam Broussard and the former Pauline LaPlace; two sisters, Mable Matassa and Ruby Sonnier and one brother, Jennings Broussard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Monday, March 2, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for church.
