Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Irene Marie Stelly, 80, who died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Suire Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gorchin "Black" Stelly Sr. of Forked Island; three sons, Garchin Stelly Jr. and his wife, Joyce of Kaplan, Roland Stelly Sr. and his wife, Corinna of Forked Island, Michael Stelly Sr. and his wife, Madonna of Forked Island; three daughters, Mary and her husband, Mitchel Broussard of Meaux, Belva Jane and her husband, Donald Gaspard of Kaplan, and Linda and her husband, Bill Bridges of Indian Bayou; two sisters, Grace Simon and Eula Mae Simon, both of Forked Island; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Gaspard and the former Alina Bourque; two sisters, Audrey Gaspard and Willie Mae Gaspard; one grandchild, Brent Stelly; and one great grandchild, Kole Stelly.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Blake Mouton, David Broussard, Roland Stelly Jr., Keith Swire, Matt Bridges, and Michael Stelly Jr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 9 a.m. until services, with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.
