Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2012 at Vincent Funeral Home -Gueydan honoring the life of Juanita Benoit, 88, who died Friday, April 20, 2012 at Southwind Nursing & Rehab Center. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Farley Henry officiating the services.

Mrs. Benoit was a teacher and librarian at Gueydan High School for many years, and served on the founding committee of the Gueydan Museum. She was a loving daughter, wife, and mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Breaux and Naomie Lyons Breaux; her husband, Charles M. Benoit; and one son, Jack Lawrence Benoit.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m.; visitation will resume on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until services.
