Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Percy Lee Meaux, 80, who died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Eastridge Nursing Center. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Scott Desormeaux officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Meaux, Erik Meaux, Rob Bares, Brennon Reese, Brodie Simon, and Joncale Simon. Honorary pallbearers will be Leo Hardy, Brady Lopez, Kelly Frederick, and J.C. Aube.

After serving in the United States Navy, Mr. Meaux went into agriculture sales for 25 years. He was also in insurance sales for 15 years. Mr. Meaux was an avid golfer and a LSU fan.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Goldie Meaux of Abbeville; one son, Michael Meaux of Erath; four daughters, Cindy Simon and her husband, Mike of Indian Bayou, Mona Boudreaux and her husband, Nick of Cow Island, Jenny Hart and her husband, Dennis of Austin, Texas, and Kathy Barilleaux and her husband, Danny of Franklin; stepson, Kerry LeBlanc of San Antonio, Texas; stepdaughters, Becky LeBlanc of Abbeville and Mona LeBlanc of Maurice; sister, Betty Meaux and her companion, Vernon Miller of Lafayette; brother, Jimmy Meaux and his wife, Helen of Kaplan; 23 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Meaux and the former Cecile Menard; and one daughter-in-law, Kathy Meaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, May 4, 2012 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
