Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Sandrus Joseph Guidry Jr., 48, who died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Shell Beach Cemetery in Lake Arthur (Shell Beach Road, Gueydan) with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Christine Guidry of Abbeville; his companion, Eileen Whetstone of Kaplan; his mother and stepfather, Audrey Vincent and Lanius Vincent Sr. of Kaplan; his son, Brent Guidry and his wife, Megan of Mermentau; his daughter, Alicia Guidry and her boyfriend, Brian Williams of Baton Rouge; one sister, Pamela Stoute and her husband, Samson of Kaplan; one brother, Lanius "Tuttie" Vincent Jr. and his wife, Kim of Baytown, Texas; and two grandchildren, Brennan and Grant Guidry.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sandrus Guidry Sr.; and a sister, Judy Vincent.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.; Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 8 a.m. until services.
