Audrey Richard Picard

Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
Mrs. Picard was a lifelong resident of Vermilion Parish. She retired from Bell South in 1977 after 25 years of service. Audrey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Ben D. Broussard of Lafayette, Bonnie and Clay Bergeron of Maurice, and Phyllis and Robert LeGros of Maurice; eight grandchildren, Michelle Broussard Newman, Amy Broussard Briggs, Kimberly Broussard, Mandi Bergeron Methvin, Christi Bergeron Beraud, John Karl Bergeron, Robert D. LeGros, and Rani LeGros Lege; and twelve great grandchildren, Brittney and Noah Newman, Ava and Mia Briggs, Taylor and Peyton Methvin, Ayden Beraud, Gracie and Sophie Bergeron, Baylee, Trebor, and Tristen LeGros.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton C. Picard; her father and mother, Ovignac and Olita Trahan Richard; sister, Thelma Brasseaux; and her infant daughter, Sharon Picard.
The family would like to thank the staff of Southern Care Hospice, Pelican Point Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, and her care givers.
Pallbearers will be Robert D. LeGros, John Karl Bergeron, Peter Briggs, Ian Methvin, Barrett Beraud, and Korey Lege.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
