Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Herta Broussard Schexnayder, 89, who died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Abbeville General Hospital.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Kendall Faulk officiating the services.

She is survived by her two sons, James Schexnayder and his wife, Suzanne of Abbeville and Bruce John Wayne Schexnayder of Baton Rouge; daughter, Cynthia S. Vincent and her husband, Ronald of Kaplan; seven grandchildren, Alyson Stroder and her husband Jeremy, Patrick Schexnayder and his wife Amanda, Ian Schexnayder, Ryan Vincent, Shane Vincent and his wife Rachel, Seth Vincent and his wife Tamara and Kyle Vincent; and four great grandchildren, Emily Primeaux, Mia Primeaux, Lily Vincent and Evan Schexnayder. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Schexnayder; parents, Numa Broussard and the former Melanie Reaux; and daughter, Bonnie Lynn Schexnayder.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 1:15 p.m.
