John Benjamin “J.B.” Trahan

November 10, 1927 — June 2, 2012

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, June 4, 2012 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of John Benjamin Trahan, 84, who died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at his residence.

John was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired as a bus driver with Greyhound Lines with 38 years of service.

He will be laid to rest at Leroy Cemetery with Father Scott DesOrmeaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Paul Trahan, Dirk Trahan, Michael Trahan, James Stewart, Paul Dubois and Robert Dowdy. Honorary pallbearers will be Micah Meche and Darren Juneau.

He is survived by his son, Buzzy Charles Trahan of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Shannon Pearl Trahan of Lafayette; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Trahan, Molly Jo Trahan and Loran Meche all of Lafayette; brother, Paul Trahan of Lafayette; and sister, Helen Trahan of Abbeville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Saul Trahan and mother, Pearl Meyers.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; funeral home will reopen on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
