Howard Joseph Fontenot

October 20, 1930 — June 5, 2012

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Howard Joseph Fontenot, 81, who died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Golden Age Nursing Home. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol F. Moormann and her husband, Dave of Denham Springs; sister, Amy Gaspard of Kaplan; three brothers, Eddie Fontenot and Pierre Odeon Fontenot Jr., both of Kaplan and Doris Fontenot of Lafayette; half-brother, John Landry of Gueydan; and granddaughter, Chelsea Moormann and her fiancé, Jess Bryan of Denham Springs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lilly Ann Meaux Fontenot; parents, Odeon Fontenot and Ida Primeaux; and sisters, Azelie Fontenot "Mac" LeMaire, Amelia LeBlanc, Agnes Hargrave, Laurice Gaspard, and Oraline Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6 p.m.; Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
