He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.
He is survived by his wife, Betty LeBlanc Choate; son, Kenneth Choate and his wife, Tammy of Abbeville; two daughters, Christine Choate and Jennifer L. Choate, all of Abbeville; two sisters, Edna Bernard and Pauline Johnson; two grandchildren, Shannon Boitnott and her husband, Daniel, and Nicholas Choate and wife, Natalia; and three great grandchildren, Lahra and Paul Boitnott and Nicolas Choate.
He was preceded in death by parents, Elevoda Choate and the former Helen Veazey; and siblings, Edward Choate, Otis Choate, Marlin Choate, Della Toups and Stella Bernard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed on Wednesday at noon.
