Abbeville— Ruth Hollingsworth Edwards Lewis, a native of Abbeville, died Sunday, June 24, 2012. She was born Christmas Day, 1912. She is preceded in death by her former husband, Pierson Lewis, of New Orleans, LA; her parents, Judge William Pierpont Edwards and Ruth Chadwick Edwards, of Abbeville, LA; her sister, Anne Elizabeth Edwards Boynton; and her two brothers, William Pierpont Edwards, Jr. and Roger Chadwick Edwards, also of Abbeville. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Hollingsworth Lewis of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Martha Edwards Lewis Bush, of Lewes, E. Sussex, England; as well as by her son-in-law, Geoffrey John Digby Bush, and her two grandsons, Oliver Paul Hollingsworth Bush and Nicholas Pierson Cromwell Bush, also of Lewes, E. Sussex, England.

Visitation will take place at the Edwards family home, Grey Friars, 337 N. State Street, in Abbeville, on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Abbeville on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
