Lucy “Young” Broussard Thomas

January 20, 1918 — July 26, 2012

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, July 30, 2012 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Lucy Broussard Thomas, 94, who died Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Pelican Pointe Healthcare & Rehabilitation.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Fr. Daniel Picard officiating the services and Fr. Kendal Faulk concelebrating. Pallbearers will be Norman Baudoin, James Thomas, Steven Broussard, Eric Broussard, Jeremy Stoute, Rame Thomas, Jacob Richard and Joshua Thomas.

Mrs. Thomas was a very active member of St. Therese Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Allen Thomas, Jr of Maurice, Raymond R. Thomas and wife Cherrie of Abbeville and Marshall Thomas and wife Lisa of Leroy; daughters, Gloria Broussard and husband John D. of Lafayette, Frances Broussard and husband Harland of Abbeville and Emily Richard and husband Eric of Abbeville; thirtyone grandchildren, fourtynine great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tertulle Broussard and the former Alix Broussard; husband, Allen Thomas Sr.; daughters, Cecile Baudoin and Linda Stoute; a grandchild, Jacqueline Faulk and a great grandchild, April Winner.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Monday, July 30, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
