Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Francis Edward Romero, Sr. 77, who died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Abbeville General Hospital.
He will be laid to rest at Gatte Cemetery, in Evangeline with Reverend John Vining officiating the services.

Francis was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a resident of Abbeville for over 40 years and a truck driver for over 46 years.

He is survived by his four sons, Francis Romero, Jr. and his wife, Julie, Paul Romero and his wife, Brandie, Richard Romero and Gerald Romero and his wife, Sharelle; four daughters, Katherine Romero and her husband, Richard, Cynthia Romero and her husband, Gregory, Nicole Romero, and Jennifer Romero and her husband, Ray; three sisters, Eva Hargrave, Mary Landry and Lillian Hudson; seventeen grandchildren, Michael and wife, Heather, Adam, India, Jacob and wife, Ashley, Paul II and wife, Brittnay, Richard, Jr., Amanda, Topanga, Gage, Chassidy, Aaron, Owen, Samantha, Matthew, Payton, Randy and Ethan; three great grandchildren, Christian, Trinity, and Hunter; three step grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felicien Romero and the former Theotis Primeaux; wife, Dorothy Gatte Romero; brothers, Odelon Romero and Richard Dalton; sisters, Unez Touchet and Della Miller; and great grandson, Michael Romero.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.; Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
