Bernice Neveaux Trahan

January 8, 1926 — August 22, 2012

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Bernice Neveaux Trahan, 86, who died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Eastridge Nursing Center.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Chad Bodin, Todd Bodin, Jeremy Trahan, Neal Trahan, Ryan Michaud and Matt Trahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Neveaux and Derrick Roy.

She is survived by her son, Glenn Trahan and his wife, Rachel of Lafayette; daughter, Deanna Bodin and her husband, Keith of Abbeville; eight grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Neveaux and the former Laurence Gerard; husband, Daniel Trahan; grandson, Colby Bodin; and five brothers, Willis Neveaux, Curley Neveaux, Percy Neveaux, Laurent Neveaux and Raoul Neveaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, August 24, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.

The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Eastridge Nursing Center and Hospice of Acadiana for their kindness, compassion and gentle care given to their mother at her time of need.
