Uric Hargrave

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Friday, August 31, 2012 at an 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Uric Hargrave, 74, who died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Jason Vidrine officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Hargrave, Broc Petry, Chris Gaspard, George Walton, Sleighton Hebert, and Steve Hebert. Honorary pallbearers are Lance Gaspard, William Touchet, and John Hebert.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marian V. Hargrave of Gueydan; one son, Ricky Hargrave and his wife, Melissa of Gueydan; three daughters, Donna Touchet and her husband, Jimmy of Gueydan, Janice Petry of Gueydan, and Molly Baumgartner of Lafayette; one sister, Una Hargrave of Lafayette; four brothers, Nickran Hargrave of Carencro, Lloyd Hargrave of Gueydan, Floyd Hargrave of Duson, and Hubert Hargrave of Lafayette; ten grandchildren, Aimee, Broc, Erin, Hannah, Nina, William, John, Sleighton, Steven, and Grettle; and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Blaine Petry; son-in-law, Patrick Petry; parents, William and Lelia Hargrave; and four brothers, Nickres, Udell, Gary, and Reed Allen Hargrave.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, August 31, 2012 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
