Mary "Liz" Lapoint

March 17, 1941 — August 29, 2012

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1, 2012 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Mary Lezida LaPoint, 71, who died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at her son's home. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend D. Blaine Clement officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Paul T. LaPoint of Kaplan; one son, Paul "Brad" LaPoint and his wife, Shera of Bunkie; three daughters, Bernardine LaPoint and her companion, Marion Hebert of Kaplan, Liz Viator and her husband, Chris of Lafayette, and Paulette Gaspard and her husband, Allen of Bunkie; one sister, Leverda Callahan of Kaplan; one brother, Roland Manceaux of Lafayette; twelve grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy Manceaux and the former Marie Larris Dartez; one granddaughter, Victoria Leonard; and one brother, Percy Manceaux Jr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
