Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1, 2012 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Ronnie Lee Frederick, 62, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Abbeville, Louisiana, who passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Flannery Oaks Guest House.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery, 515 Jacqulyn Street, Abbeville, Louisiana with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.

Ronnie was born on November 18, 1949 in Abbeville. He was a 1967 graduate of Abbeville High School and while enrolled at Abbeville High School he also took classes in welding at the nearby trade school. He then enrolled at the University of Southwestern Louisiana where he earned a degree in Physical Education. He taught physical education in Baton Rouge until he took advantage of his training and experience in welding to take a position at Central High School as a welding instructor. Subsequently he was employed as a welding inspector at Dow Chemical.

He is survived by his two daughters, Pamela Clarice Lerch and her husband, Scott of Newnan, GA, and Stacey Kaye Frederick of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Corinne Elise Lerch and Marin Elizabeth Lerch; three brothers, Presley "Buck" J. Frederick, Roland James Frederick and Brady A. Frederick; three sisters, Doris Jane Hebert, Ella Dean Hebert and Joann Noel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Frederick; mother, Edmonia Bernard Frederick; brother/godfather, Nolan Francis Frederick; and sister, Peggy Joan Hebert.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 4:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, September 1, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Charlie and Sarah Turner and the staffs of Clarity Hospice and Flannery Oaks Guest House for the attention and care they provided Ronnie in his final days.
