Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2012 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Benite Monic, 100, who died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon Keith Duhon officiating the services.

Mrs. Monic loved sewing, dancing and Holly Beach.

She is survived by one son, Clifford J. Monic and his wife, Marie of Orange, Texas; six grandchildren, Linda Thibodeaux, Sandra and her husband, Donald Turner and Barbara and her husband, Leroy Trahan, all of Kaplan, Sharlene Monic of Abbeville, and Ricky and Tony Monic, both of Orange, Texas; eleven great grandchildren, Angella McFarlain, Andrea Domingue, Eric Boutte, Joshua Boutte, Tonya Boutte, Jyi Abshire, Krista Trahan, Kristopher, Kenneth and Bridget Monic, and Brandi Sebren; twelve great-great grandchildren, Brody and Cody McFarlain, Ahna, Madison, Alysalyn and Emmy Boutte, Ainzley Abshire, Makynlie Mire, Gracie Monic, Elliot Slaton, Matthew Vice, and Bailey Kate Sebren; and one step great-great grandchild, Nathan Mire.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Monic; one daughter, Marie Audrey Thibodeaux; seven sisters; and two brothers.

The family would like to send a special thanks to her niece, Mae Grace Mouton, Kaplan Healthcare Center and Hospice of Acadiana.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, September 2, 2012 from 1 p.m. until services on Monday. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday.
