Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 6, 2012 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Effie LeMaire Marceaux, 94, who passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Father Corey Campeaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Chad Simon, Jack Dalby, Raywood LeMaire, Wilson LeMaire, Jr., Donald LeMaire, and Johnny Daigle. Honorary pallbearers will be Luther G. Suire, Rixby Marceaux, Jr., Glenn Suire, and Harris LeMaire.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Marceaux and friend, Kent LeBlanc; three grandchildren, Chad A. Simon and his wife, Jeannette, Denise A. Simon and friend, Craig Simon, and Stefanie R. Duhon; five great grandchildren, Abby and Mia Simon, Gabrielle and Jack Dalby and Laura Simon; brother-in-law, Luther G. Suire; sisters-in-law, Leanna LeMaire and Marie D. Suire; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Marceaux; parents, Joseph and Ava Gaspard LeMaire; four brothers, Fred, Wilson, Sr., John and Thomas LeMaire; and one sister, Enise LeMaire Daigle.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, September 6, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
