Mary "Jeanette" Choate Lachaussee

September 24, 1932 — September 10, 2012

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Mary "Jeanette" Choate Lachaussee, 79, a lifelong resident of Abbeville, who died Monday, September 10, 2012 at her residence.

She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Eric Lachaussee, Anthony Simon, Ryan Simon, Timmy Lachaussee, Chris Lachaussee, and Ronald LeBlanc.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Francis Ray Lachaussee; daughter, Marcia Simon; son, Owen Lachaussee and his wife, Abra; four grandchildren, Megan Lachaussee, Eric Lachaussee and wife, Meghan, Anthony Simon and wife, Heather, and Ryan Simon; and two great-grandchildren, Amalie Lachaussee and Emily Simon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Choate and Zola Trahan Choate; brother, Thomas "Ray" Choate; and an infant brother, Raymond Choate.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday, September 12, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.

Her family expresses a heartfelt appreciation to her caregivers, Ms. Louella Hardy Meaux, Ms. Anetta LeBlanc, Ms. Joyce Bertrand, Ms. Diane Cormier, and Ms. Lynn, for the loving care they provided.
