Yola Mae "Toot" Abshire

May 23, 1931 — September 13, 2012

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Yola Mae Abshire, 81, who died Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Abshire Cemetery with Reverend D. Blaine Clement officiating the services.

She is survived by one son, Roddy Abshire and his fiancee, Susan Bourgeois of Abbeville; three daughters, Peggy Boudreaux of Crowley, Gale and her husband, Leonard Smith of Gueydan, and Lisa Abshire and her companion, Kerry Hargrave of Cow Island; one brother, Edison Abshire of Kaplan; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Lou Abshire and Vickie Esquivel; and her parents, Lustia "Dabie" Abshire and the former Gladys Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, September 15, from 8 a.m. until services.
