Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2012 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Learna Trahan Richard, 88, who died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Abbeville General Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Harrington Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.

She is survived by three daughters, Delana Marceaux of Forked Island, Alice Richard Duhon of De Ridder, and Janet Richard Cervantes of New Iberia; two sisters, Ella Mae Touchet of Forked Island and Hazel Marie Trahan of Kaplan; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Coon" Richard; her parents, Aurthur Trahan and the former Odia Fontenot; one son, Clarence Joseph Richard; one daughter, Belinda Gayle Richard; three sisters, Gelta Frith, Winnie Domingue, and Alva Jane Suire; two brothers, Galis Trahan and Ray Allen Trahan; and three grandchildren, Rhonda Duhon, Jeremy Duhon, and Minos Joseph Duhon.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; September 21, 2012 from 8 a.m. until services.
