Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2007, at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Abbeville honoring the life and spirit of Rosalyn Marie East Hebert, who journeyed home to be with "Our Lord" on her 65th birthday, which was Monday, November 12,2007. Entombment will be at St. Paul Mausoleum. The Revs. Chester Arceneaux, Pastor of Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church in Lafayette and Daniel Picard, Pastor of St. Bridget's Catholic Church of Lawtell will concelebrate the funeral services. Eucharistic ministers will be Pat Parlier and Juliet Choate. Lectors will be Jennifer Doxey and Vicki Thibodeaux. Gift bearers will be Debbie Hebert, Michelle Hebert, Maria Hebert, Christie LeBlanc, Anne-Catherine LeBlanc and Jeanne LeBlanc. Survivors include her beloved husband, Robert "Chick" Hebert of 46 years; two sons, Brent Hebert and his wife, Debbie Picard Hebert of Meaux and Scott Hebert of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; two daughters, Christie H. LeBlanc of Erath and Maria Hebert and partner, Paula Williams of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Justin Hebert, Jared Hebert, Jason Hebert and Michelle Hebert of Meaux and Anne-Catherine LeBlanc and Jeanne LeBlanc of Erath; parents, Corbert East and Hilda H. Broussard of Abbeville; one brother, Corbett Karlon East of Erath; one sister, Teilla Broussard Shiner and her husband, Karl J. Shiner of Erath; and one nephew, John-Michael Shiner of Erath. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Murphy P. Broussard of Abbeville; her stepmother, Mae East of Abbeville; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Hebert of Erath; and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John East of Abbeville. Rosalyn will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife, a caring daughter, a wonderful sister, and a loyal friend. "Live, Laugh, Love" was her motto for living. She had a passion for cooking, crabbing, fishing and going to the casino. She treasured spending time with family and friends. She has a contagious laugh, and she was so much fun to be around. She was a member of the Ladies' Altar Society, a lector and former employee of St. Theresa Catholic Church. The family requests that visitation be observed on Wednesday, November 14,2007, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville. A rosary will be prayed on Wednesday, November 14,2007 at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, November 15,2007 from 8:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Justin, Jared and Jason Hebert; her cousin, Wade East; her nephew, Danny Hebert; and her godson, Benson Langlinais.
