GUEYDAN—Bobby Gene Chanell, 66, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at his residence.

He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Cormier and her husband, Wallace of Gueydan; three stepdaughters, Tammy Richard of Gueydan, Angela Mallett and her husband, Glenn of Gueydan, and Christina Guidry and her husband, Patrick of Houma; three stepsons, Dwayne Broussard of Forked Island, Gerard Broussard and his wife, Maj of Gueydan and Blaine Broussard and his wife, Tonya of Maurice; 17 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, Harvey J. Channell and the former Dessie Odom; and his companion, Elaine Broussard.
