Darrel Rueben Miller, better known as “Poppee” to family and friends, was born in Urbana, MO. He served in the U.S. Army and as a Merchant Marine before taking a job with Texaco and retiring with 37 years of service.
“Poppee” was a devoted husband and father, who took such loving care of his wife until her death in 2011. He loved sitting in front of his 15 year old 22 inch television with his long time beloved dog “Sparky” watching NASCAR. “Poppee” and “Sparky” also loved going camping; his family has fond memories of their last camping trip all together for Easter. He would spend hours sharing old stories of his youth with his son-in-law Don. In his earlier years during his Birthday Month of October he would travel to Urbana, MO to visit his family. He will be greatly missed for his loving and kind heart by all that knew him.
