ABBEVILLE —Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 at St. Paul Cemetery honoring the life of Barbara Bobo Derveloy, 53, who died Tuesday, October 2, 2012.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Robert Wells officiating the services.
She is survived by her husband, Shafter Leon "Sonny" Derveloy, III; three daughters, Brandie Bobo Stelly, Brooke Derveloy and Allison Derveloy; three step-daughters, Angel Derveloy Perkins, Tisha Derveloy White and Nicole Derveloy; three brothers, Raymond Bobo, Wayne McCloskey and Mitchell Bobo; sister, Ethel McCloskey Trahan; three grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Brasseaux; father, Egbert "Ed" Clinton Bobo; brother, Willie McCloskey; and two sisters, Pauline McCloskey Mouton and Shirley McCloskey Decuir.
The family will be ever thankful to all of those who provided medical care and personal care to her during her year-long battle with osteosarcoma. We are especially thankful to MD Anderson Cancer Center, Aishel House of Houston, TX, Acadian Home Care of Abbeville-Ty, who was her care coordinator as well as her therapists; and to Hospice of Acadiana, especially her nurse, Joeanne. We are so appreciatative of all of your efforts. Lastly, a huge thank you to Charity Baptist Church of Abbeville and Pastors Curtis and Debbie Gibson, who heard about our family through a member of their church and found their way to our home to bring food, prayer, love and encouragement several times a week for the past several months. The love and true spirit of Christianity that you have shown our family has touched us deeply and will never be forgotten.
