Myrtis Ann Ledet Dent
August 14, 1929 — October 18, 2012
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services. Pallbearers will be David Dent, Jimmy Jay Dent, Ryan Dent, Jace Hebert, Joshua Jay Dent, Dylan James Dent and Robin G. Dent.
She is survived by her four sons, Robin Dent of Lafayette, David Dent and his wife Charlette of Mississippi, Jimmy Jay Dent and his wife Donnell of Abbeville, and Ryan R. Dent of Abbeville; daughter, Joan Elizabeth Methvin and her husband Ronnie of Maurice; sister, Dolores Meaux of Abbeville; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. "Coach Dent" Dent; son, Sammuel Dent; parents, Eugene Louis Ledet and the former Anny Marie Bergeron; three brothers, Sterling Ledet, Raymond Ledet and Emery Ledet; and four sisters, Lillian Broussard, Wilda Guidry, Ledoria Hebert and Velma Plaisance.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, October 19, 2012 from noon until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, October 20, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
The Dent family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Eastridge Assistant Living and Paramount for their kindness, compassion and gentle care given to their mother at her time of need. Also a special thanks to Angela Fields and Alex Fields.
