Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Monday, October 22, 2012 at a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Wilfred Trahan, 83, who died Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Kendal Faulk officiating the services.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Trahan of Kaplan; one son, Thomas Trahan of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Linda Mayers of Gonzales, Delores and her husband Johnny Huffman of Longview, Texas and Debbie and her husband Scott Guidry of Kaplan; three sisters, Mae Rose Couch and Rita Smith both of Conroe, Texas and Shirley Hebert of Amarillo, Texas; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cesar Trahan and the former Elia Abshire; three brothers, Rixby, Obrey and Wilson Trahan; and two sisters, Amanda Richardson and Marie Casey.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Monday, October 22, from 8 a.m. until 10:45 when the procession will depart for the church.
