Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, honoring the life of Ruby Eva Broussard Sonnier, 89, of Abbeville, who died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at her residence.
She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.
She is survived by a son, Francis Sonnier, Jr. of Abbeville; a daughter, Bonnie Sonnier Gill of Winnsboro, LA; two brothers, Robert F. Broussard of Mouton Cove and Irving S. Broussard of Abbeville; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Sonnier, Sr.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam and Pauline LaPlace Broussard; a brother, Jennings Broussard; and a sister, Mabel B. Matassa.
Pallbearers are Larry J. Broussard, Tim Broussard, Bruce Sonnier, Craig Gill, Eric Gill and Ryan Bernard.
Visitation will be Monday, January 7, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, January 8, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
