Lee "Shorty" Louvier

June 21, 1936 — November 6, 2012

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012 at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Lee "Shorty" Louvier, 76, who died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at his residence in Gueydan. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Jason Vidrine officiating the services.

Mr. Louvier worked in the oilfield from age 16, then went to work for the town of Gueydan in 1981 for 20 years.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mitzi M. Louvier of Gueydan; a daughter and her husband, Kim and Craig LeBlanc and their sons, Aaron and Brandon LeBlanc, of Gueydan; a daughter, Teddy Louvier; and a brother, Steve Louvier and his late wife, Louise of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Louvier; parents, Adeline and Ozemay Louvier; and two brothers, James Louvier and Ozemay Louvier Jr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6 p.m.; Thursday, November 8, 2012, from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
